William Greenfield served in the Royal Australian Navy for ten years leaving in 2011. During that time he discovered digital photography and started to make images of the landscape. Seeking a new way of seeing the world he studied photography at Latrobe University. There he began to move away from the traditional and heroic landscape and explore both the landscape as altered through human intervention as well as a more abstract entity. He continues to struggle with these views and seeks to try and reconcile this multiply way of viewing the world around us.
